📘 Step 2: Understand Core Basics (Terrace Space & Subsidy Rules) ~100 sq.ft/kWp · Up to ₹78,000 DBT ▼

☀️ Shade-Free Terrace Space

• Rule of Thumb: 1 kWp requires ~100 sq.ft (9.3 m²) of shadow-free terrace.
• For a 3.0 kWp system, you need ~300 sq.ft (28 m²).
• Why shade-free? Parapet shadows, water tanks, mumty stairwells, and drying lines reduce output. Only unobstructed areas count.

💰 PM Surya Ghar: Central Subsidy

• Direct Bank Transfer (DBT): Deposited directly into your bank account within 30 days.
• 1 kWp: ₹30,000 subsidy · 2 kWp: ₹60,000 subsidy
• 3 kWp+: ₹78,000 maximum subsidy
• Apartments/RWAs: ₹18,000 per kW for common area metering.
